What's Everybuggy Reading: Miro
Fairy Tale Feasts

by Jane Yolen and Heidi E. Y. Stemple
Crocodile Books, 2006
Zee tooth fairy and I, we ‘ave an understanding—I provide zee sweet treats, and she collects all zee rotten teeth. My desserts are so rich and creamy and sugary zat zey will make anybuggy’s teeth fall right out!
Zis friendship between us eez not surprising—food is tres important to many fairy tale creatures. So many of zee best fairy tales are about food! In "Snow White", it eez zee poisonous apple. In "Jack and zee Beanstalk" zere is, well, a beanstalk. Even zee Little Red Riding Hood ‘ad a basket full of yummy treats for her grandmere!
In zis combination storybook/cookbook, each recipe eez inspired by a fairy tale—zee fairy tale is told first, and zee recipe follows. For ‘orribly chilly February nights, I would suggest zee stone soup. But of course, I ‘ave tested all zee recipes, and each one eez fantastique! Délicieux! In fact—zey are positively magical!
Now eef you will excusez-moi, I must meet my friend zee Tooth Fairy for lunch. Au revoir!

Miro, I just love Fairy Tales, why don't you write one for me?
