Ah, mes amis, my friends! You cannot understand zee joy zee Great Miro feels after reading theez fantastique tale of courage, heroism, and, of course, food!
Young Madeleine eez forced by her ’orrible uncle to wash dishes in his ’orrible restaurant: zee Squealing Pig (yuck)! Zee uncle makes Madeleine wash dishes only because he knows she eez a better cook zan him! Thank goodness for Madame Pamplemousse—a true artiste who makes zee most délicieux specialties. She makes pâté out of sea serpent, Pterodactyle bacon, and smoked Sabre-Toothed Tigre. But most importantly, she makes zee most incredible tasting food of all, which eez sold in a tiny white jar with no label. Trés mysterious!
But when Madeleine’s uncle finds out about Madame Pamplemousse’s specialty, he sends Madeleine to work for Madame Pamplemousse. He tells her she must find zee recipe for zee most incredible tasting food and steal it for him. But eez ‘aving zee recipe enough? Zee Great Miro knows zat eet eez just as important ‘ow you cook it! In this month’s Spider I read about zee little girl who created zee most délicieux plum dumplings. Zee dumplings were zee best because zee girl made zem with her heart as well as with zee recipe.
Will Madeleine’s love for cooking win against ’er selfish uncle’s love for money? You will ‘ave to read zee book to find out!
