Someday, I shall open my own restaurant. It will be zee finest restaurant in zee land, and buggies, mushrooms, and humans will flock to eat my delicious crème brûlée and steak frites.
In theez story, Oscar gets to open a restaurant—but only after surviving a very dangerous series of events! An ‘orrible dragon lives at zee top of a nearby mountain, and he wants to eat Oscar for dinner. (Zee great Miro would never serve such food at his restaurant!) But Oscar eez a very clever boy, and he cooks zee most délicieux food for zee dragon—homemade ice cream, filet mignon, and asparagus soup—to keep zee dragon from eating HIM.
I won’t tell you how Oscar convinces zee dragon not to eat him, but I will tell you zee very last scene: Oscar and zee très hungry dragon open a restaurant together! ‘Ow shocking! ‘Ow marvelous! Do you think I should hire a dragon to be my sous chef? After all, zat crazy dragon in this month’s Spider did a magnifique job toasting my cupcakes . . .
