What's Everybuggy Reading: Sam

Never Smile at a Monkey

by Steve Jenkins

Hey, everybuggy! I just came from my science lab. Today I looked at all sorts of rocks under my microscope. When I put the microscope up to my face, it makes my eyes look HUGE. Miro thinks it’s super funny.

Miro's lucky that I'm not a spitting cobra—if you look those scary snakes in the eye, they just might spit poisonous venom into your peepers from eight feet away! This fact comes from the awesome book “Never Smile at a Monkey,” which tells you all about animals you shouldn’t bother—or else. Did you know you should never clutch a cane toad? It has two sacs of venom on its neck that will squirt out poison! And guess what? There’s even a section on the electric caterpillar. If you touch it, it can burn you! Good thing I’m just a fuzzy yellow caterpillar—I'd never hurt anybuggy!

Uh-oh. I just remembered that Spider's going to the zoo later—and he loves laughing at the monkeys. I've gotta go warn him!
