What's Everybuggy Reading: Sonya

Pierre in Love

I was sure Miro would want to review this book, because it’s full of lovely French words like Plié, mes enfants! But he’s been so busy cooking up every recipe in Honest Pretzels that I managed to sneak this away from him.

This is the perfect story for Valentine’s Day! A lonely fisherman named Pierre is in love with a beautiful ballet teacher. Day after day, he leaves presents on her doorstep—a perfect shell, a heart-shaped wreath of sea grass—until he finally has the courage to tell her how he feels. But oh no! She’s in love with someone else!

At this point in the story, you might think that Pierre is going to get his heart broken. But there’s a HUGE surprise at the end, and trust me, everyone lives happily ever after!

Miro taught me to say “Happy Valentine’s Day” in French: Bonne Saint Valentin!
