What's Everybuggy Reading: Spider

Misoso: Tales from Africa

Misoso: Tales from Africa

When it’s cold outside, a rambunctious spider like me starts dreaming about tropical places and outlandish adventures! (I like to play in the snow, too, but it’s hard to find eight snow boots.) This book is chock-full of colorful pictures, crazy characters, and exciting escapades.

My favorite story is “Anansi and the Phantom Food,” because Anansi is a tricky, clever, and very handsome spider. Does that remind you of anyone you know? (Don't forget to check out Miro's book review for an Anansi-inspired recipe!) I also loved “The Sloogey Dog and the Stolen Aroma,” a story about a rich man who takes a poor dog to court for smelling his delicious dinner. Ophelia says I can be pretty sloogey myself, although nobuggy knows what “sloogey” means. What do you think?

When you see all the palm trees, sunny skies, and bright feathers in this book, you’ll want to hop on the nearest plane, boat, or dolphin (my favorite mode of transportation), and explore Africa!
