What's Everybuggy Reading: Spider
The Scrambled States of America Talent Show

Happy 4th of July! Happy summer! I love the warm weather. My snazzy hair glistens in the summer heat, and I can eat all the hot dogs, lemonade, and cucumber-watercress panda bentos (p. 34 in this month’s Spider!) that my tummy can hold. At the end of a long, hot day of summer fun, there’s nothing I like better than swinging in my spider web hammock with some funny fiction.
In this book, the 50 states decide to throw a fantastic talent show. Wisconsin sculpts cheese, Kentucky plays the banjo, and Georgia, California, Idaho, and Massachusetts form a group called the Jolly Jugglers. Unfortunately, Georgia gets a bad case of stage fright. Yipes! The show must go on—but will Georgia be able to juggle? Or will her stage fright ruin the Jolly Jugglers’ career forever?
The best part of this book is the funny commentary in the margins of each page from all the states. If I were a state, I think I’d be Delaware. He’s small, but hilarious. He’s pretty dashingly handsome, too.
